The Canton has regularly scheduled classes for arts, scriptoriums, fighting practice, archery, and social
gatherings.
Some examples of medieval activities we pursue are: music, pyrography
(woodburning), woodworking, banner making, lacemaking, costuming,
embroidery, cooking, and more.
We cordially invite you to come play with us!
Summergate Newcomers meeting is for new friends, old timers, or
the "just curious" giving all an exellent introduction and overview of
life in the Modern Middle Ages. We welcome new members and are most
happy to answer
questions. Newcomers meetings are held every third Thursdayof the month, from 7-9 (or 10)p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1250 Borden Road, San Marcos, CA, 92069.
Fighting Practice includes SCA heavy armored combat using rattan swords, and rapier. Practices are held from 7-10 p.m. every second and fourth Tuesdays at the new location for fighter practice, starting August 14:
Rancho Del Oro Park in Oceanside
off of College Blvd and Mesa Drive.
We will be using the grassy area next to the tennis courts
across from the YMCA.
Directions coming from the 78:
Take College north, cross Oceanside blvd, and when you get to Mesa
Drive make a right. Go 100 feet and make a right into the Rancho Del
Oro Park/YMCA entrance. We are the first field on the Left next to the
tennis courts.
Directions from the 76 freeway:
Turn right on college Blvd, and when you get to Mesa Drive turn left.
Go 100 feet and make a right into the Rancho Del Oro Park/YMCA
entrance. We are the first field on the Left next to the tennis courts.
 Archery Practice is currently canceled as we are in need of a new location.

Officers attend to give a monthly report on their areas of stewardship
and assist in the planning of events. Anyone wishing to add business to
the agenda please contact our Seneschal, Master Quinn. All people are invited and welcome to attend whether members or not.
The Promisory Painting Workshop is held by Suzanne Delaplaine, every first Thursday, at Foothill Oak Elementary, Vista, from 7pm to 9pm.

Directions from Mission Rd in Oceanside and Fallbrook:
Turn south onto E. Vista Way (left from Fallbrook, right from Oceanside -
it's a major light).
Travel 3 mi. on E. Vista Way to Foothill Dr. (look for the large Chevron
station on the left). Turn left at the signal.
On the left you will see the school playground and buildings. Turn left
onto
Oak Dr. at the stop sign.
The school has 2 driveways. Either works, but the 1st is closer. Choose a
parking space.
On the Foothill Dr. side of the school there will be an open door which is
the teachers' lounge. That's us.
Directions from Hwy 78:
Exit freeway at Escondido Ave. Turn north on Escondido (right from
westbound
lanes, left from eastbound lanes).
Travel 1 mi. on Escondido to E. Vista Way (big intersection, Lincoln
Middle
School on the left).
Turn right on E. Vista Way and travel just over 1 mi.

dealer on the left just before the light and a Chevron station just past
the light).
